The Offbeats Vocal Jazz Ensemble is Recruiting for All Voices!

Do you have the ability to practice weekly to learn some music on your own and have the desire to be part of a fun music making community? Join us!

We are seeking experienced singers who can blend, have jazz and/or choral experience and some sight reading skills.

We meet Wednesday nights Sept 14 through May, from 7:00-9:00 pm on the top of Queen Anne hill, with occasional other nights when we are closer to performance dates.  We perform approximately 6 concerts throughout the season including a Spring Concert in May.

The Offbeats audition for each upcoming season is in August for the season starting in September. However! We may be able to use new voices mid-season if you’d like to reach out to our Director at any other time of the year. We’d like to get to know you asap, so, if you want to swing and can hit that jive jack, this is your chance to be part of a group of super cool humans who laugh and sing, play and perform beautifully together. Shows in fancy places, solo opportunities, a feisty director and a killing band. You got game? Perfect voice not required, practice is.
Rehearsals begin mid-September and run weekly on Wednesday, 7:30-9:15 at our rehearsal venue in Queen Anne.
To schedule or for more info, please email: OffbeatsDirector@seattlegleeclubs.org

For the audition please prepare to sing a jazz standard of your choice. Bring a lead sheet in your key or let us know the song and key ahead of time. The director will also have you take a few passes at some very light sight-reading, sing the chromatic scale, check your vocal range, and give us each a chance to ask some basic questions. Please allow 20-30 min.
